  • Therapy delves into exploring and healing the past wounds, traumas, and deep-seated patterns that are impacting your present. It focuses on understanding and processing emotions, resolving inner conflicts, and promoting psychological well-being.

    On the other hand, coaching is more future-oriented, aiming to help you set and achieve goals, overcome obstacles, and cultivate specific skills or behaviors to create positive change in your life.

    While therapy tends to address underlying issues and emotional healing, coaching emphasizes action, accountability, and personal growth. Both modalities complement each other, offering a comprehensive approach to support your holistic well-being.

  • I choose not to work with insurance companies for several reasons. Insurance often requires an official diagnosis after just one session, which means labeling you before we've even begun our journey together. This process can feel intrusive and limiting to your healing journey.

    Additionally, insurance companies dictate the length of care and how much therapists are paid, which may not align with your individual needs or our collaborative goals. I believe that the decisions about your care should be made between us, without outside interference.

    By opting out of insurance, I can focus solely on providing you with the personalized support and attention you deserve, without the constraints of external regulations. Your well-being is my priority, and I'm committed to empowering you to make informed choices about your mental health journey.

    That said, various insurance companies will cover my services as an out-of-network provider. You may contact your insurance company before our first session and inquire about how much they will reimburse you if you choose an out-of-network LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor).

    I support clients who choose to use their insurance benefits by providing a monthly “superbill” which can be submitted directly to your insurance company to obtain reimbursement services provided.

  • “Does my plan include out-of-network benefits for mental health care? Specifically, for outpatient psychotherapy?”

    ​​​“Do I have a deductible for out-of-network mental health services? If yes, what is the remaining amount I will have to pay before my health plan starts to reimburse me for fees that I pay out-of-pocket?”

    “What is the maximum amount my plan will reimburse for mental health service code 90837 with a Psychotherapist?”

    ​​If the rep does not provide a clear answer, ask: “What is the maximum allowed amount for mental health service code 90837 with a psychotherapist, and what percentage of the maximum allowed amount will my plan pay?” (This percentage of the maximum allowed amount is the amount you would receive as reimbursement.)

  • Respecting your time and commitment, I kindly ask for a minimum of 24 hours notice for any rescheduling or cancellation of appointments. Should a session be missed, cancelled, or rescheduled with less than 24 hours notice, the full fee will be charged. This policy ensures that I can continue to provide you with the dedicated attention and support you deserve, while also honoring the value of our scheduled time together.

  • Sessions take place in the comfort of your own space, virtually through Zoom. Prior to your consultation and first session, you'll receive a private link, ensuring a secure and confidential environment for our time together. Your convenience and privacy are of high importance, allowing you to focus solely on your journey toward healing.
